Day One Hundred and Seventy

It would have been my sisters 24th birthday on the 30 November 2012, but as many of you know she passed away in 2010 (for those of you who don't know this story, click HERE). Though it has been two years, my parents are still very emotional about this which I'm sure only parents can relate to because no parents should have to bury their child.

Even though Kylee is only with us in spirit, we still go out on her birthday to one of her most visited restaurants: Restaurant Barrique and celebrate the joy she was in each of our lives.

These dinners are generally filled with story telling, crying, lots of drinking and over-stuffing of our tummies. This year was exactly the same except with an added bonus, my Uncle Mark who had joined us with his wife Aunty Colleen received an email from his nephew saying that their baby had just been born two hours ago - on my sisters birthday. My parents were ecstatic that the cycle of life had continued and this new found hope brought more smiles than tears this year.

Though I know each year will get easier, we will never forget Kylee.
