Day One Hundred and Nine

One of thee most amazing things I've ever seen this year and boy, did it melt my heart.

Myself and Dave went to Str.Crd today for work purposes (blog link to be included here once written) and after walking around and discovering that nothing was being handed out for free as it was in 2010 or that the event organisers had not planned the event correctly, things soon got stale and annoying for me.

UNTIL,

I walked past three queue's of people - a mix between street fashionista's, plain-janes and street children - that were hyped up with excitement and had the glow of happiness literally pouring off them. So naturally I stopped and watched for a space of 5 seconds before I realized what was happening.
The adidas sneaker brand had placed an 'Area 3' section at the venue where you could play the game 'Rock, Paper, Scissors' with the adidas Crew. It was a game between the best of three, if the adidas Crew won you would get an adidas lanyard, if you won you would get a black mini envelope with a number inside.
If you got the envelope you could stand a chance to win a boobie-prize or a pair of adidas sneaker, brand new out the box.

How amazing is that!

There were street children in their raggy clothes sitting on street corners putting on their new sneakers. It was ABSOLUTELY mind blowing and I literally stood there for a while, completely taken aback.

Of all the stalls at all the expo's and events I have been to, adidas wins hands down.

adidas planned to be an "evolving, innovative and multi-purpose creative space" at Str.Crd and they succeeded.

Thank you for making me realize that there are people out there who really do give a damn about our next generation.

You have not only put a smile on my face today, but you have put tears in my eyes and hope in my heart.
